I had mold in my apartment. I had been living there going on three years. I experienced headaches, congestions, coughing. My kids were getting really sick. I had just had a brand new baby. They had to put him on a breathing treatment, and I kept smelling mold and went to the office numerous times about it, but they did nothing. They even did an inspection... so they said.
What was going through my mind was, I gotta get out of here. Either, you're gonna move me to a new unit, or I have to leave because my kids health is more important.
I had property damage for the floor. It was soaking wet. The AC unit was broken, so I had to walk on wet carpet for about a week and a half. They didn't give me a new AC unit, and this went on for probably a month and a half. Two months later, I had to go to Walmart and get the really big fans to put it in my kid's room, put it in the living room, put it in my room, just to keep the house cool, because I didn't have any AC. I do live in Florida. So having no AC here, that's a really big deal.
I chose to work with Nick and Charles because I called a bunch of law firms and they turned me down. But Nick and Charles gave me the chance and the opportunity, and they told me that I had a case. My goal was to make sure that companies like that apartment at least know that we're here. We matter. You know, you can't just do that to people.
Charles and Nick really made me feel great. They took care of everything, and it really gave me comfort. The communication with them was always on point. They didn't miss a beat. If I messaged or called, they would respond right away. If I knew someone that was going through a similar situation to what I experienced, I would definitely send them to Nick and Charles, because they're awesome and they're going to make sure they get it done.
