Charlie was born and raised in Flagler Beach, Florida, which is a small beach town located on the northeast coast of the sunshine state. Growing up so close to the ocean, Charlie saw the conflicts posed by coastal developments, such as the danger it presents to marine habitat and wildlife, as well as the threats posed by hurricanes and other weather-induced events. This ultimately embedded a passion for Environmental Studies and how it ties into the legal world.
Charlie earned his Bachelor of Arts from Rollins College in Environmental Studies. Through his environmental coursework, Charlie participated in a two-week field study in Costa Rica analyzing sustainable development and human impact on native wildlife habitats, as well as a one-week field study in Portland, Oregon examining greenspaces and sustainable development in an urban city setting. The field study experiences and accompanying coursework led Charlie to his senior seminar project for the environmental studies major, where he designed a proposed sustainable development project for the City of Orlando. During his four years at Rollins College, Charlie developed an interest in the legal field, and enrolled in courses such as Environmental Justice, Environmental Law, and several political science classes which eventually inspired him to further pursue these interests at Barry University School of Law.
During law school, Charlie was an Associate Editor and Note & Comment Editor for the Environmental and Earth Law Journal, received an Honors Certificate in Environmental and Earth Law, and was ultimately ranked within the top 25% of his graduating class. He also interned at the Orlando Office of a U.S. Senator and worked as a law clerk at a nearby personal injury law firm.
Charlie has since then remained in the Central Florida area, integrating himself into the fast-paced environment of Orlando. Upon becoming a licensed attorney in the state of Florida, Charlie immediately began implementing the skills he developed through his educational, volunteer, and professional experiences to help provide a unique and beneficial legal voice for those who often cannot speak for themselves. In his free time, Charlie enjoys surfing, golfing, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
