The collision occurred in the northbound lane, close to Mile Marker 29 and the Curry Ford Road exit ramp. As a result, authorities have closed the northbound outside lane of State Road 417 and the exit ramp leading to Curry Ford Road, causing some traffic delay.
Eyewitnesses informed the Florida Highway Patrol that the vehicle involved was exceeding the speed limit in the northbound lane before it lost control. It hit the guardrail and flipped, ejecting all the occupants. The car then caught fire shortly after the accident.
