Three people died in a crash in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 11, 2022. The wrong-way crash occurred on State Road 44, east of Interstate 4 in Volusia County, Florida. According to sources, a gray Toyota Tacoma was driving westbound on State Road 44 in the eastbound lane sometime around 2:20 a.m. The gray Toyota crshed head-on with a black Infinity Q50. As a result, the black Infinity hit the center media. Thereafter, a third vehicle crashed with the Toyota, and another vehicle crashed into the debris. 

According to the police, the driver of the Toyota may have fled the scene of the crash on foot. In response, trooper deployed a K-9 but were unable to track down the man. The driver's identity is still unknown. Additionally, there were two passengers in the Toyota who sustained serious injuries. 

The driver of the black Infinity was a 22-year-old man, and he sustained serious injuries in the accident. His passengers were also seriously injured. Tragically, a 21-year-old woman, as well as another man and another woman, were killed in the accident. The driver of the third car was a 30-year-old man, and the driver of the fourth vehicle was a 60-year-old woman. Both sustained minor injuries as a result of the wrong-way accident.
